ABCpuppy Health Guarantee

1. Three-Year Replacement Guarantee

1.1. Purchases of $800 or more include a 3-year replacement health guarantee covering genetic conditions.
1.2. Puppies priced below $800 come with a 1-year guarantee for genetic conditions.
1.3. A $100 replacement fee applies. The replacement puppy must be of similar or lower value.

2. 15-Day Health Guarantee (Life-Threatening & Viral Diseases)

2.1. If your puppy is diagnosed with a life-threatening condition or serious viral infection (such as parvovirus or distemper) within 7 days, you may:

  • Exchange the puppy for one of equal or lesser value.
  • If returning the puppy is not possible due to distance, you may receive a refund or reimbursement up to the puppy’s purchase price.
2.2. If your puppy has been examined by a licensed veterinarian within 7 days, this guarantee extends to 15 days for serious viral infections (parvovirus & distemper).
2.3. Hospitalization Costs: If hospitalization is required, reimbursement (up to the puppy’s purchase price) will be provided upon submission of veterinary invoices.
    2.4. Health Guarantee Disclaimer:
  • Our health guarantee is not a health insurance policy and does not cover or pay veterinary bills.
  • Owners are responsible for all veterinary expenses beyond the specified reimbursement terms.
2.5. Once the total refund or reimbursement reaches the puppy’s purchase price, no further credits will be issued, and the congenital guarantee becomes void.

3. Limitations

3.1. This health guarantee does not cover cosmetic or non-life-threatening conditions.
3.2. Routine care (vaccinations, deworming, spaying/neutering, flea/heartworm prevention) is the owner’s responsibility.
3.3. Minor health concerns not explicitly covered may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
3.4. This guarantee is not a substitute for pet insurance. We recommend exploring veterinary care options for ongoing health needs.

4. Your Responsibilities

To maintain this health guarantee, the buyer must:
4.1. Veterinary Exam: Have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 7 days of bringing them home.
4.2. Fecal Exams: Conduct tests for worms, coccidia, and giardia as advised by your vet.
4.3. Notification: Inform ABCpuppy immediately if your puppy tests positive for any health condition.
4.4. Microchip Registration: Register the puppy’s microchip (details provided in vaccine records).
4.5. Spay/Neuter: Complete spaying/neutering by six months or as recommended by your vet.
4.6. Behavioral Training: Address any behavioral issues with professional training if necessary.

5. Deposits & Refund Policy

5.1. Non-Refundable Deposits: Deposits (up to $400) are non-refundable but may be transferred to another puppy.
5.2. Deposit Refunds: If the selected puppy becomes ill before release, a full refund will be issued.
5.3. Switching Puppies: Changing your puppy selection after three days will incur a $200 fee.

6. Sold as Pets Agreement

6.1. When a puppy is “sold as a pet”, it means:

  • No Breeding Rights: The puppy is for companionship only.
  • Spay/Neuter Agreement: The buyer must spay or neuter the puppy.
  • Pet-Only Focus: Ensures the puppy goes to a loving home, not for breeding or showing.
  • Breed Variability: While the puppy may be purebred or primarily one breed, minor variations may exist.
  • Health Guarantees Apply: All guarantees for hereditary conditions remain valid for "Pet Only" puppies.

7. Important Notice

7.1. Puppies under four months old who are not fully vaccinated should avoid public spaces (e.g., pet stores, parks, groomers).
7.2. Keep your puppy in a carrier at vet visits and prevent strangers from handling or putting fingers in the puppy’s mouth.
7.3. By accepting a puppy from ABCpuppy, you agree to all terms and conditions outlined in this document.
